Screen printed sequence:

This mini animation was tied to the Rio animation (which is a product made way after this one). This is evident by the colour scheme and attempting to represent the Brazilian flag to some degree. This animation was to showcase more on how I wanted to represent a certain culture, as my chosen country is Brazil, not only did I attempt to form a blue circle and green background like the Brazilian flag, but I also added small abstracts of Brazilian art which you can see around the corners, this was thanks to my research. This animation was made via the process of screen printing, a process which involves forming a sequence on a type of board, put it within a UV machine plus applying paint onto it, which forms this sequence of imagery, not to mention Photoshop helped with the positioning of the circle and the corner features, this helps form templates for the complex processes to be based upon.

Once I've applied all the complex processes to form these coloured and materialised visuals, I then used After Effects to form the sequence I have made. Overall, this animation I do like too, it certainly had the most complex process in order these simple of visuals, but because it was successful, it was worth it. I do like the mix of colours and the abstract art pieces around, the only problem I can spot is the positioning of the blue circle, but other than that, it was a new process I have learnt, adding to the experience. As this screen printing was a practical method, this is why despite the experience I still prefer the likes of Photoshop considering the kind of future work I want to make.

This project did last for a long time, as the Rio animation was within its planning stage, this is where this animation (along with its supporting material such as some supportive notes) did take place. It occurred since the first week of university, and each week consisted of a lesson which helped provide time towards this project. For instance, one week is where we made the Photoshop template for each frame, the following week is where we applied the Photoshop template onto a special board, and then the following weeks is where we did as many versions of this animation as possible, and the one within the page was the superior one (the other versions of this animation you can see within my YouTube channel). Doing at least one of these sequences within the studio full of machinery like the UV machine does take more than thirty minutes, and then using your own time to form the Photoshop sequence is of course rather quick. It's one of these animation's where the planning and editing towards it is very short, but as this is an alternative type of stop motion, it gets proper lengthy then, and it requires university only sources, meaning it was impossible to do it at home.
